| Program Structure (The Firm System) |
| |
|
Cook County has a large internal medicine residency program (approximately 140 residents) and a very busy hospital. In order to manage both patient care and residents effectively, the program is divided into 3 Firms (A, B, C). Residents are assigned to one firm at the beginning of their training and remain with the same firm for all 3 years. This allows the residents and attendings to get to know each other better and provides a structure for most of our teaching to be small group interactive sessions. Inpatient teams on each firm consist of one attending, 2 residents, 2 interns and 1-3 medical students.
Each Firm Consists of:
|
| | Firm A | Firm B | Firm C |

| Associate Firm Chief | Christine Acob | Joy Bressler | Albert Osei |
