SO WHICH GRANTS ARE BEING FUNDED?

FEDERAL GRANTS

The National Institutes of Health maintains an on-line data base called CRISP (Computer Retrieval of Information on Scientific Projects) which lists federally funded biomedical research at universities, hospitals and other research institutions.

CRISP includes projects funded by the National Institutes of Health (NIH), Substance Abuse and Mental Health Services (SAMHSA), Health Resources and Services Administration (HRSA), Food and Drug Administration (FDA), Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC), Agency for Health Care Policy Research (AHCPR), and Office of Assistant Secretary of Health (OASH).

You can use this database to search for scientific concepts, emerging trends and techniques, or identify specific projects and/or investigators. Interactive searching of either Current or Historical Award Information is possible, and entries you find include the project abstract. You can link to CRISP here.

PRIVATE GRANTS

Locally, the Donors Forum of Chicago maintains a searchable data base of awards made by private foundations since 1994. For national grants, the Foundation Center has databases of awards by private foundations, public charities, community funds and corporations. The links on this site often take you to the funding agencies' annual reports, which give complete lists of recent grants.
