RUSH/CCH COLLABORATIVE RESEARCH AWARDS ANNOUNCED

Four projects have received funding from the 2000 round of competition for Collaborative Research Awards. The funded projects are:

Title: Investigation of Gait in the Spectrum of Calcium Pyrophosphate Dihydrate Deposition (CPPD)-Associated Disease
Principal Investigator:    John Case, MD (CCH  Medicine/ Rheumatology) 

Title:    Use of Acellular Dermal Matrix in the Treatment of Venous Stasis Ulcers
Principal Investigator:    Mark D. Hoffman, MD (Rush Dermatology) 

Title:   Antioxident Modulation of Acute and Chronic Pancreatitis
Principal Investigator:   Mary Jo Atten, MD (CCH Medicine/Gastroenterology)

Title:    Social and Cultural Barriers to Papanicolau Smear Screening in an Urban Population
Principal Investigator:    Kian Behbakht, MD (Rush OB/GYN Gynecologic Oncology)
 

Congratulations to all the awardees.  If you are interested in applying for a Rush/CCH Collaborative Research Award in 2001, look for an announcement in late winter or early spring.

As of April 1, 2000, all submissions to the CCH/Bureau IRB and all institutional approval forms for grants originating at CCH or in ACHN must be on the new forms. You can download the new forms here.

The Rush/Cook County Collaborative Research Award competition has been announced for 2000. Deadline for receipt of Letters of Intent is May 1.  Go to the announcement for a complete description of this opportunity.
February 10, 2000
Back issues of the Newsletter are now available on line.  Newsletters have been completely indexed in the search engine, so if you're looking for something you've lost from a previous issue, you may be able to find it with a key word search. 

If you want to search only back issues of the Newsletter, choose the "Newsletters" Search Index.  If you want to do a search without the Newsletters, choose "CCBHS Web Site" as your Search Index.  If you choose "All", both indices will be searched. 

February 7, 2000: 
A Search Engine has been added to this site.  You can search using key words to find pages that are part of the site as well as links that are referenced on those pages.  There are also links to several hundred funding agencies -- federal agencies, private foundations, corporate funders, professional societies and health charities.

We have begun to distribute hard copy versions of the new Guidebook with accompanying disks to all subscribers to the Grants & Research Newsletter.  Distribution will take about three weeks. 

If you are not a Newsletter subscriber, you can pick up a Guidebook and disk in Room 602/603 of the Durand Building (637 South Wood Street). Call 312-633-7792 or 572-3506 first to make sure the room is open.

If you would like to have multiple copies  (10 or more) for local distribution in your Division, Department or other unit, call 312-633-4941, or send us an email.
