| Description: |
Previous studies have documented that for over 80% of medicine inpatients received treatments supported by randomized trials or other convincing evidence. However, it is not known whether routinely searching the medical literature has the potential to improve the treatment decisions of experienced inpatient attending physicians. This study tested whether attending physicians would change their treatment recommendations for a random sample of patients admitted to the general medicine inpatient service after they were presented with the results of a standardized brief search of the best available published evidence. |
