John H. Stroger Jr. Hospital, a new state-of-the art hospital facility Welcome to the Algorithms for Central-Line-Associated Bloodstream Infection Detection Website.

A password is required to access the CLABSI algorithm download page. Please fill out all the fields on the registration form, and click submit.
PURPOSE:
This website provides access to and information about electronic algorithms for the detection of central venous catheter (also called central line) associated bloodstream infections (CLABSIs). CLABSIs are an important outcome measure for hospital infection control programs. In many states, CLABSI reporting is mandatory.

The algorithms available at this site were developed to use electronic data from a hospital electronic medical record to detect the presence of CLABSIs. The algorithms, when used, will produce CLABSI rates for individual units within a hospital based on NHSN criteria. The algorithms utilize the SNOMED standard for identification of microorganisms and require a standard table structure.

Developers and Funders:
These algorithms were developed and adapted by investigators funded by the CDC Prevention Epicenters.
